Ham and Cheese Waffles
With ham and grated cheese

Filling waffles with ham, hard cheese and fresh herbs.
Ingredients

Wheat flour180 g
Eggs3 pcs
Whole milk200 ml
Butter(melted)70 g
Ham(grated or finely chopped)150 g
Gouda cheese(hard, grated)150–180
Baking powder8 g
Salt0.25 tsp
Ground black pepperto taste
Dill25 g
Corn starch(optional, for crispness)15 g
Instructions
Preparation
Coarsely grate the ham or chop it very finely. Grate the cheese.
Batter

Mix the warm milk and melted butter. Add the eggs and whisk.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper. Add to the wet mixture and stir to a smooth batter.

Add the ham, grated cheese and herbs. The batter should be thick but pourable. If it is very stiff, add 1–2 tbsp. of milk.
Cooking

Heat the waffle iron and grease it lightly if needed. Cook for 5–7 minutes until deeply golden.

Move the finished waffles to a rack.
Freezing and reheating
Freeze for up to 2–3 months
Cool completely. Freeze in a single layer, then transfer to a bag, container or vacuum pack.
Reheating
Toaster, oven or air fryer — they come back crisp outside and soft inside.
